Divisions

WESA offers two divisions of play, C and D. Both divisions offer a friendly, fun and social avenue to play softball and make great friends.  You are free to register for the division of your choice. However, once teams are drafted, no player may switch divisions. It is important for all members to think about which division best matches their skill level.
 
While both divisions are competitive due to the nature of sport, C Division is geared to those with a more consistent skill level, while D Division generally has players who are newer to softball and an overall lower skill level.
 
When joining WESA, you will sign up as an individual, it is not possible to register a team or partial team to play in WESA.
 
All players are pooled together within the division they sign up for and coaches draft a team from the available players to form a team for the season.

Joining with a Buddy

Any player can join with a "Buddy", as long as the buddy plays in the same division. Joining with a "Buddy" will mean that both players are drafted on to the same team. Unfortunately, waitlisted buddy requests cannot be accepted.
 
Each "Buddy" must request the other player in order for the players to be drafted together. Requests for third or fourth buddies will not be accepted.

Important Dates

Saturday, February 2, 2019– Stage One online reservation is open to 2018 Members only (members will receive an eBlast with reservation links for each division);


Wednesday, February 6, 2019 – Stage Two online reservation open to the Public (2018 Members can still register during this period; however, should WESA reach capacity in any division, the reservation will be placed on a Wait List for that division);

  • All reservations will be received in sequence during the entire online reservation period.
  • Once you have completed your reservation an email notification will be sent to you;

WESA Welcome Party

Thursday, February 21, 2019 - The Junction (1138 Davie Street) from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

How does your reserved spot become an official registration?

When you show up at the Registration Welcome Party at The Junction—already having “reserved” your spot online—all you have to do next is pay your Fee by 9 pm that night.  NO RUSH TO QUEUE UP!  No stress about making the cut-off!  Just arrive any time before 9 pm to pay for your reserved spot.

Afterwards, we hope that you stay a while, have a few drinks, and catch up with everyone else who is there for the party!

2019 Membership Fees

  • $145  EARLY BIRD RATE before February 21st, 2019
  • $170 REGULAR RATE between February 22nd, 2019 and June 14th 
  • $120 after June 15th, 2019 

Payment Process & Methods

After signing up and reserving your spot, non-waitlisted individuals will be emailed a
reminder to come to the Registration Welcome Party to pay and finalize their registration.


Waitlisted members will be contacted to make payment as they are added to the member
list.

Payment methods accepted are:

  • Personal Cheque | Bank Draft (made out to "West End Slo-Pitch Assoiciation (WESA)"
  • Credit Card* (Visa | MasterCard | American Express)
  • Cash is not accepted

Waitlist

If the division you'd like to join is full - feel free to continue the sign-up process to be put on the waitlist - waitlisted registrants are called upon in the order which they signed-up. If you are signing up for the waitlist, you are not required to make payment until placed in the league.

Miscellaneous

A few things to note about your reserved spot:
 

If you don’t get to pay your Early-Bird fee by 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Registration Welcome Party, your reserved spot will be forfeited and you will be placed next on the Wait List.

We realize that some of you may not be able to make it to the Registration Welcome Party due to extenuating circumstances (i.e. travel, work, etc.). In this case please email   so arrangemetns can be made.

Once the reservation system opens to the Public, the potential is there to reach capacity at which point new reservations will automatically be placed on a Wait List. Wait-listed individuals will be given the opportunity to register for new spots in the order in which they are sequenced on the Wait List.

Finally, should you plan to sign up with a Buddy who is not a returning 2018 Member, your Buddy will not be eligible to reserve their spot until public online reservation opens on Thursday, February 6, 2019.

INSTRUCTIONS / MUST READS

Returning Members - Log into your WESA account. New Members - Create a WESA account.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REGISTER MEMBERS, FRIENDS, ETC USING THE "ADD ANOTHER" BUTTON. IF YOU DO, IT WILL ADD THE MEMBER AS A CHILD OR FAMILY MEMBER. EACH PERSON MUST REGISTER INDIVIDUALLY SIGNING IN TO THE SYSTEM UNDER THEIR OWN EMAIL ADDRESS. 

After signing in, use the green "register" button beside your name to continue.

 

You will know you have successfully signed-up if you receive a confirmation email immediately after registering. Please ensure the email is not in your junk mail. If you do not get a confirmation email, YOU HAVE NOT SIGNED-UP.

Registration consists of 2 forms. After logging into the system, check that your personal information is current. Then, you will be prompted into the registration questions; these are auto-populated from your last year's responses. CHECK THESE CAREFULLY TO MAKE SURE JERSEY SIZE, BUDDY, AND EMERGENCY CONTACTS ARE ALL STILL CURRENT.

If you attempt to sign up for both divisions, the system will flag the duplicate and not allow further registrations. In addition, both registrations will be flagged as invalid. IF YOU INADVERTENTLY SIGN-UP FOR THE WRONG DIVISION, OR CHANGE YOUR MIND - please contact   to correct the problem.

If your account is flagged as "ineligible" for signup, please ensure you have your birthdate in your profile.

Lastly, due to NAGAA requirements, please use your LEGAL LAST name as it appears on your Identification. For your FIRST NAME, you may enter your preferred name (Chris for Christopher ...etc.).
