The Story of WESA
The WESA Hall of Fame preserves the story of the West End Slo-pitch Association through the people whose vision, leadership, service, and generosity have shaped the League throughout its history.
Those inducted into the Hall of Fame are more than outstanding volunteers or leaders. Their contributions have become part of WESA’s identity and legacy.
As the League continues to grow, the Hall of Fame ensures that future generations will know the individuals whose commitment helped build the WESA we know today.
The League’s Highest Honour
Induction into the WESA Hall of Fame is achieved through the granting of Lifetime Membership, the League’s highest honour.
Lifetime Membership recognizes extraordinary and sustained contributions whose impact extends beyond individual seasons, positions, or accomplishments, and whose legacy has become part of the continuing story of WESA.
The question is not simply how long someone served, but whether the story of WESA can be told without them.

Criteria for Induction
Induction into the WESA Hall of Fame is achieved through the granting of Lifetime Membership, the League’s highest honour.
The intent of Lifetime Membership is to recognize individuals who have made extraordinary and lasting contributions to the West End Slo-pitch Association. It is reserved for those whose vision, leadership, service, or generosity have substantially strengthened the League and whose legacy has become an enduring part of WESA’s story.
Lifetime Membership is awarded only in exceptional circumstances. In considering a nomination, the Commission looks beyond years of service or individual accomplishments to the lasting impact of a person’s contributions on the League’s reputation, growth, and future.
The question is not simply how long someone served, but whether the story of WESA can be told without them.
Nominees should have demonstrated significant, sustained, and high-quality service that has enhanced the reputation and future of WESA. Nominations must clearly document the nominee’s achievements and satisfy the eligibility criteria established in the WESA Governing Manual.
Preserving Our Legacy
The Hall of Fame is more than a record of honours. It is a permanent tribute to the people whose dedication, vision, and commitment helped build the West End Slo-pitch Association.
Through their example, they continue to inspire future generations of members, volunteers, coaches, and leaders.
Other Historical Honours
The WESA Hall of Fame recognizes those whose enduring contributions have become part of the League’s story through the granting of Lifetime Membership.
Throughout its history, the West End Slo-pitch Association has also celebrated outstanding achievement, sportsmanship, leadership, and service through a variety of annual and special recognitions, including the Commissioner’s Award, player awards, the Rick Berg Sportsperson Awards, the Ethel Spirit Award, and team championships.
Together, these honours reflect the many ways members have helped shape WESA, both on and off the field. Historical records of these awards and recognitions are maintained on the Awards & Results page.
