2026 PLAYER AWARDS VOTING

NOMINATIONS

It's that time of year again! Time for us to celebrate the outstanding play of our fellow Members in each tier.   Over the past while, league Coaches submitted their top picks for players in the following categories:  

  • Most Valuable Player  
  • Best Offensive Player  
  • Best Defensive Player  
  • Rookie of the Year  
  • Sportsperson of the Year  

Then, nominees were shortlisted based on the most submissions from coaches. Now it's time for the Membership to vote!  

VOTING

A 2026 League Awards voting link will be emailed to 2026 WESA Members from Election Buddy, specific to the tier they play in, on Sunday, July 12, 2026.  The voting links will be active until 11:30PM PT, Friday, July 17, 2026.

The first four positions (2-year terms for 2027-2028) for the WESA 2026 Commission are up for election, in accordance with the WESA Bylaws located in the WESA Governing Manual:

  1. League Commissioner; 
  2. Membership Commissioner;
  3. Communications Commissioner;
  4. Special Events Commissioner;

    5. Technology Commissioner is an appointed position.

EXPECTATIONS

As a WESA Commission Member, you are expected to be available to attend a minimum of one commission meeting per month, typically on a weeknight, participate in ongoing discussions between meetings, answer questions from Members, and oversee the items assigned to the role for which you are elected.  For a description of each role, please see the WESA Governing Manual (page 15).

HOW TO NOMINATE YOURSELF

Please speak with a current or former member of the Commission to explore the duties and expectations of the position you are considering.  We are all volunteers and want to nurture the best possible experience for our fellow members.

Eligible WESA Members (that means everyone who has paid their membership fees, is assigned to a 2025 team as an active playing Member, or be an Associate or a Lifetime Member), may nominate themselves for any one of the above positions. All you need to do is:

  1.  Starting Wednesday 12:00 a.m. PT, July 01, 2026, and no later than Monday 11:59 p.m. PT, August 03, 2026 , send an email, indicating for which one position you would like to run. Attention to the Electoral Officers, email to  Commission@WESA.net 
  2. Include a short bio (no more than 1,000 words), that we will publish online for everyone to see, explaining why you think you would be good at the position.  You could also include things like the number of years you have played, skills you would bring to the role, related and or relevant experience, etc.; and
  3. Provide a high-resolution recent head & shoulders full face photo so even those people who are not familiar with your name, but think you are amazing, may still vote for you.

IMPORTANT: Should your bio not be received by Thursday 11:59 p.m. PT, August 03, 2026, your nomination will not be included on the ballot.
